El reglamento, pionero a nivel mundial, establece un marco claro y estructurado para la clasificación y manejo de riesgos asociados a los sistemas de IA, con el objetivo de proteger los derechos fundamentales de los ciudadanos y fomentar la innovación responsable marcando así un hito significativo en su regulación en Europa.

Al prohibir aplicaciones de riesgo inaceptable y regular estrictamente aquellas de riesgo alto, la UE asegura que la seguridad y los derechos fundamentales no se vean comprometidos.

El reglamento clasifica las aplicaciones de IA en diferentes categorías de riesgo:

2.- Obligaciones para Proveedores y Usuarios:
El reglamento establece diversas obligaciones para los desarrolladores, proveedores y usuarios de sistemas de IA, incluyendo la evaluación de conformidad, la gestión de riesgos, la transparencia y la supervisión humana.
3.- Gobernanza y Supervisión:
Se creará un Comité Europeo de Inteligencia Artificial para coordinar la implementación y garantizar una aplicación uniforme del reglamento en toda la UE.
