We have successfully led the search for a General Manager for the Spanish market of an international industrial company, leader in solutions for the beverage sector, owned by an investment fund and with a global presence.
The challenge
Our client entered the Spanish market a few years ago through the purchase of different companies, with the aim of integrating their operations into its global structure, professionalizing its management model and preparing them for a new stage of sustained growth.
The challenges were multiple and complex:
Lead the transition of different family businesses towards a more structured and process-oriented organizational culture, while maintaining the technical knowledge and commitment of the local team.
Redesign the operating model to gain industrial efficiency.
Align both units with the group’s policies, values and standards.
Driving an ambitious growth plan
Our strategy
We developed a search approach based on four key axes:
Identification of profiles with dual experience: operations + transformation: We focus on candidates who have led both industrial management and organizational restructuring processes or post-acquisition integration, especially in environments owned by private equity.
Leadership validation in multicultural environments and with an international matrix: We placed emphasis on identifying managers with experience reporting to international HQ and in transversal coordination with different business units.
Sensitivity to the local cultural legacy: We evaluate the ability to balance the modernization of structures with the preservation of human commitment and local technical expertise, key to success in this context.
Alignment with the strategic growth objective: We are looking for profiles with a development mindset, experience in industrial scaling-up and a results-oriented business vision.
The result
The process concluded in six weeks, with the submission of five finalist entries with strong industry experience and transformational leadership.
The selected candidacy stood out for:
His track record as a Managing Director in complex industrial environments, with direct experience in acquisition integration and operations restructuring.
Its ability to generate credibility both in the global management committee and in local teams, balancing operational demand and cultural proximity.
His track record of leadership in industrial efficiency and continuous improvement projects, as well as in the definition of business plans.
This case reinforces our experience in the search for management profiles capable of managing the complexity of a post-M&A environment, with strategic vision, execution capacity and human sensitivity in organizational transformation processes.
