At Saltor Talent we have successfully led the search for a Director of the Sustainability Business in the United States, for a leading consulting firm with an international presence, recognized for its innovative approach and its commitment to positive impact on the global business environment.

The challenge

Our client, a leading consulting firm with operations on multiple continents, is expanding its sustainability practice in the United States.

The objective was to identify a visionary leader who could design and execute business strategies oriented towards sustainable solutions, aligned with growing market demands and environmental regulations. Recently, weselected a similar role in LATAM, and due to the success of the previous search, we were asked to extend the collaboration in the United States, a project that we carried out together with our American partner from the international network Kennedy Executive Search. 

The ideal candidate should have proven experience in sustainability consulting, ability to develop new lines of business, and a deep understanding of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) challenges. In addition, a profile with a strong network of contacts in the North American market, capable of influencing global customers and generating long-term sustainable growth, was required.

Our strategy

We start the process with a thorough analysis of the market, identifying key trends in sustainability and mapping experienced professionals in strategic consulting, large corporations and non-governmental organizations.

Our team identified more than 75 relevant profiles, prioritizing those with a track record in ESG projects and with a demonstratedability to lead multidisciplinary teams in complex environments. We use advanced assessment tools, including competency analysis, cultural alignment and leadership style, ensuring an objective and unbiased approach.

Throughout the process, we worked closely with the client’s leadership team, ensuring that the successful candidates fit with the firm’s values and vision.

The result

Of the four finalist candidates we presented, two stood out in particular, and we finally opted for a candidacy with strong experience in creating sustainability strategies for Fortune 500 companies, as well as for its ability to generate tangible impact on ESG indicators. The bid stood out especially for its ability to 

build high-level relationships with key stakeholders and its innovative approach towards the development of new business opportunities.

After a process of in-depth interviews and the validation of references, the offer was formalized, which was accepted with great enthusiasm by both the candidate and the client.

The success of this search was based on our ability to combine rigorous methodology, a strategic understanding of the client’s needs in the United States, and a deep insight into the dynamics of the North American sustainability market through collaboration with our American partner.
