Listed multinational in the industrial sector with production plants in Spain (more than 1,000 employees)

At Saltor Talent, we have successfully led the search for an HR Director Spain at a leading listed multinational in the industrial sector, with a global presence and production plants in Spain employing more than 1,000 people.

The challenge

Our client was looking to strengthen its Human Resources function in Spain with a solid profile in comprehensive HR management in large industrial environments. The company already had consolidated structures and processes, but it needed leadership capable of ensuring consistency in the application of global policies, optimizing labor management, and strengthening coordination between plants and corporate headquarters.

The key challenges were:

  • Ensure the correct implementation and local adaptation of global HR policies, including compensation, labor relations, and talent management.
  • Effectively manage union relations, key in a context of multiple production plants and collective agreements.
  • Consolidate people development processes and ensure succession plans in critical positions.
  • Improve the efficiency of administrative and support processes, without losing sight of the proximity to the teams.

Our strategy

We defined a search approach focused on four axes:

1. Proven experience in industrial environments with large workforces:
We focus on profiles that have managed large groups of employees, in multinational industrial companies, with a considerable union presence.

2. Knowledge of listed companies and global environments:
We identify candidates accustomed to reporting to international HQs, with exposure to compliance and reporting standards typical of listed companies.

3. Orientation towards continuous improvement:
We evaluate the ability to optimise existing processes, gain efficiency in management and provide added value in key areas such as labour relations, people development and talent attraction.

4. Operational and pragmatic leadership:
We prioritize candidates with a practical and business-friendly approach, capable of combining compliance with global policies with the local reality of production plants.

The result

The process was completed in six weeks, with the presentation of a final shortlist of highly qualified candidates.

The selected profile stood out for:

  • His consolidated career as head of people in multinational companies in the industrial sector, with experience in managing large workforces in Spain.
  • Extensive knowledge in negotiation and labor relations management, ensuring stability and trust in unionized environments.
  • Ability to ensure the correct application of global policies and, at the same time, promote improvements in management processes and people development.

This case reinforces our experience in the search for Human Resources managers, capable of ensuring consistency, efficiency and quality in people management, combining global vision, local execution and orientation to continuous improvement in complex industrial environments.
