From Saltor Talent, we have successfully led the search for a Head of Ingredients and Sustainability for an international dermocosmetics company, recognized for its strong investment in innovation, its commitment to sustainability and excellence in regulatory compliance in its products.

The challenge

Our client was at a key moment in strategic evolution. With a strong innovation pipeline and growing demand for sustainable products from consumers and distributors, the company needed to bolster its structure with a high-level profile that would lead the intersection between ingredient safety, regulatory sustainability and corporate environmental strategy.

The challenges were clear:

  • To incorporate an expert profile in toxicology, sustainability and environmental regulation that would provide technical and strategic vision in a highly demanding European context.
  • Ensure transparency in the use of natural resources and strengthen the brand’s ESG narrative both internally and externally.
  • Ensure collaboration with suppliers and internal departments (R&D, Regulatory, Packaging, etc.) to accelerate the fulfilment of sustainability objectives defined by management.

Our strategy

We designed a search approach based on three fundamental axes:

  1. Mapping of talent specialized in sustainability and toxicology:
We identify profiles with experience in highly regulated sectors (pharma, FMCG, cosmetics, etc.) with a clear focus on toxicological evaluation and environmental compliance.
  2. Analysis of the European ecosystem:
We focused on talent with up-to-date knowledge of European regulations and experience working with global suppliers under demanding sustainability standards.
  3. Evaluation of technical and relational capacities:
We apply our evaluation methodology to ensure not only technical mastery (toxicology, sustainability, life cycle management), but also key skills such as dialogue with stakeholders and the ability to promote transversal projects with impact.

The result

The process was successfully concluded in five weeks. Three finalist entries were submitted, with proven expertise in sustainability, ingredient evaluation and supplier relations.

The selected candidacy stood out for:

  • The career in the sector leading ingredient audits and adapting formulas to international regulatory frameworks.
  • The ability to integrate sustainability into all phases of product development, from raw material selection to final consumer communication.
  • The experience implementing environmental transparency systems and collaborating closely with suppliers to constantly innovate.

This case reinforces our experience in the search for high value-added profiles, with the ability to connect scientific, regulatory and business requirements, in a sector where sustainability is no longer an option, but a competitive advantage.
